Thing 4 Task 1- It Doesn’t Matter if You’re 6, 26, or 106
I thought that this blog was especially sweet. It was both empowering, unique, and special in that it fostered the participation of so many people, of all ages, and from all over. I particularly notice that most of the blog posts were encouraging, supportive, positive, inspiring and thankful. They were also repetitive. I wonder how much one learns from consistently, repetitive posts about the same topics. The part that was most interesting and diverse in this blog was the various contributions and ways that Laura made a difference on a daily basis. However, she received the same praise and response for each effort made.
I have a hard time finding value and patience in reading repetitive posts with the same kind of messages, ones that do not challenge the thought processes and/or offer various opinions, perspectives, and ideas. Overall, I found this particular blog to be special but be annoyingly repetitive. I found the purpose and meaning to be incredibly inspiring but rather redundant. I know it is not necessarily polite to say, but I would have read one blog post and then moved on. Due to the purpose of “play” and introspective reflection in this course, I stuck with reading the blog posts and checking out the rest of the information so as to provide a response. I guess when I really think about it… sticking with an expected reading for the purpose of a class, either a blog or a novel, is really no different. I guess that either way, we are taking in, learning, embracing a perspective and a new idea, whether it is simple or more complex.
